Inspector General of Police Japheth Koome Bans Azimio Demonstrations

The tough spoken IG Koome challenged Azimio politicians to use other channels to address their political disputes instead of trying to compromise security in the country. "There are no servers in the streets and this no debate when it comes to security," -Japheth Koome.

IG was so categorical at the presser that he has a mandate as the Inspector General of Police to ensure that there is sanity. He castigated those who were busy bashing his juniors. "Last week, politicians were intimidating my commander Bungei that they will arrest him and take him to international court. Why are you afraid of me, you are dealing with my junior. Deal with me. I am ready. I am the commander of the National Police Service. The buck stops with me,"-he said

He also highlighted on a case where rioters invaded an government that was organized by the Communication Authority of Kenya in Kisumu last week.

"The police will protect lives and property of all Kenyans and anyone found breaching law will be dealt with regardless of their status in the society."-Koome added

Raila Odinga is set to continue with his mass action on Monday and on Thursday as President Ruto jets out of the country on a four-day visit to Belgium and Germany.
