Manchester United suffers the heaviest defeat in 92 years after losing 7-0 to Liverpool at Anfield

Erik Ten Hag's side suffered a hefty blow since August under in a steamy match at Anfield. All Kloop's front three Nunez, Gakpo and Mo Salah scored 2 each as Liverpool thrash their close rivals at home. Robert Firmino made United's day completely miserable by scoring the 7th goal at stoppage time.

In a bid to try and salvage a goal Manchester United technical bench made five substitutions Elanga, Sabitizer, Garnacho, Malacia and Mc Tominay. The changes did not stop Liverpool FC from pressing on over and over. The away fans had nothing else left but start leaving the stadium shattered.

Liverpool FC were ruthlessly and Jügen Kloop made several changes with S. Bajčetić, Jones, Milner, Jota and Firmino coming in to see off the game.

This is the heaviest defeat ever for Manchester United for 92 years and it will be a huge talking point for a long time. The Carabao Cup's win celebrations at Wembley completely overturned into a nightmare and a shocker for the United's fraternity.

A second defeat in all competitions since November for the Red Devils with a seven goals is quite unfortunate for Erik Ten Hag's side. This is a big reality check moving forward and somehow so devastating to his career as a manager.

Manchester United's midfielders and defense were so exposed as goals streamed in.

"For us it was just about today, our key focus now is concerntrating on the next match. We just need to enjoy the game.
Winning 7-0 against Manchester United is a great deal since this is a big match. This is very important, we have not perform so well this season but we have proved what we can deliver as a group. The performance is what is more vital and we should keep on pushing on for the rest of the season," Jordan Henderson

"We should just remain humble as we face the next matches," Mo Salah

United's heaviest in history on all competitions have come from away matches where they have lost 7-0 in all the four in April 1926 Blackburn(A), December 1930 Aston Villa (A), December 1931 Wolves (A) and March 2023 Liverpool (A).

"It was not our level, first half we played so well but second half we conceded so many goals from our own mistakes in places we should have played better. We give away too many spaces where they could counter attack.

To play for a big club like Manchester United we must compete in all games. This is just three points we have lost despite the scoreline. These results cannot be used to determine our focus for the rest of the season." Bruno Fernandez

"United are still away behind others but we cannot forget where they have come from in the past recent seasons. There is a still a long way to go." Michael Owen

"In the first half Manchester United were the best side but the second half was a bad day in office, Casemiro didn't play so well, Bruno playing from the left did not effect anything at all. There is more to worry now for United.

You cannot afford to lose such a game this way, I don't know how they will bounce from this. Weghorst does not win headers but losing 7-0 in a game that Liverpool FC had just 8 shots on a target is horrible," Owen Hargreaves

Mo Salah managed to break another record. His performance was exemplary embodiment and he elicited the Reds whenever he dribbled the ball against United defenders. Hestarted the game one goal behind Anfield legend Robbie Fowler, who scored 128 times in 266 EPL appearances for the Reds between 1993 and 200. Mo Salah now leads with 129 goals as Liverpool's EPL top scorer. The 129 goals have come in 205 EPL games. 7 of those 129 goals have been headers, 20 have come from his right foot and 102 have been scored with his left.

"For me I don't have any explanation but I just witnessed, loss of the ball from defense transition. There was no more team. As professionals we must stick together and do the job. First was good but we still conceded a goal then immediately after second half two goals then thereafter a real mess. I am angry and this is not unprofessional. When you don't keep standards you lose big and totally unacceptable," Erik Ten Hag

Former United legend Paul Scholes castigated the naivety in how Erik Ten Hag approached such a big game. Dalot should not have started the match ahead of Aaron Wan Bissaka. Weghorst should be a defender and not a striker.

"Super active, top great football against one of the best on form. United has a great season but it didn't mean a lot to the game. We become so wild than we never wanted. Everyone played a top game. We must be felt that we are still around. Our competitors are now aware we are around. Mo Salah's achievement is insane, he is a very special top player," Jürgen Kloop

When Liverpool FC are on top of their game at Anfield they are unstoppable. They are now back to top 5 on the English Premier League table since August.
