Rigathi Gachagua The Village Darling
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is promoting a very important culture that should be copied by everyone.
Most people who hustle in urban areas in this country never take their time off to walk more than 3 kilometres in the rural villages for fear of being told, "Mkubwa tuwaachie za kuchunga kijiji or fear of being bewitched."
How often do you interact with the nature?
When was the last time you took your wife and children to see your former primary school or fellow villagers?
Your work is just riding a fuel guzzler splashing mud or dust to your fellow villagers whenever you go there once in a year.
You learn about issues happening in your village through social media or national breaking news yet you are busy lecturing people on how they can help to grow this country.
If you have zero attachment to your rural village. How will you help to change this country? Charity begins at home. First start with your own village if you want to leave a legacy elsewhere.
The challenges that were in your village when you were in primary school are totally different to the challenges that exist now.
You understand those challenges if you walk around and listen to the villagers one on one. This country cannot be changed by leaders and politician alone. It's a collective responsibility for all citizens.
Let Rigathi Gachagua do his thing. In fact he is helping in promoting awareness in the of conservation of nature as he walks through the thick forests.
Walking 8-18 kilometres is a healthy practice for anyone.
