Southampton Officially Relegated From The Premier League

The saints will play in the championship next season after 11 successful years in the top-tier.

Goals from Carlos Vinicius and Aleksandar Mitrovic sealed their fate at St. Mary's Stadium.

Ruben Selles' squad managed just one shot on target in a game they had to win at home.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was at the St. Mary's Stadium to watch one of his home town team play but unfortunately its relegation was confirmed.

Southampton now has 24 points — eight points from safety with just two games to play. They will play Championship football next season for the first time since 2011-12.

The club have changed three managers in the season the ouster was unavoidable.

They will sign off Premier League by visiting Brighton on 21st May and end the season at home against Liverpool on May 28.

Many home fans did not turn up for the match leaving most chairs empty. Those who turned up were chanting full of anger "you’re not fit to wear the shirt".
