CS Interior Prof. Kithure Kindiki Orders Resident Living In Bandit-Prone Areas To Vacate Within 24 Hours

  • In order to curb this insecurity menace tighter measures have to be applied
  •  Anyone who will be found in the bandit prone areas as from Monday, March 13,  will be treated as bandits
  • Aircrafts taking part in the ongoing security operation, low altitude overflight by any other aircraft over any of the afore specified areas BANNED until further notice 


Prof. Kithure Kindiki Ministry of Interior and National Administration has declared the following spaces scenes of crime and any person found therein from Monday 13th March, 2023 0830 HOURs will be treated as a suspect of armed banditry, or as a suspect of aiding and abetting banditry.

Korkoron Hills, Tandare Valley and Silale Gorges in Baringo County

Mukogodo Forest; Kamwenje, Warero and Ndonyoriwo; Lekuruki Hills, Losos and Kiape Caves and Sieku Valley in Laikipia County

Ltungai Conservancy, Longewan, Nasuur, Lochokia and Lekadaar Escarpments; Lolmolok Caves, Pura Valley, Malaso Escarpment and Suguta Valley in Samburu County

Kapelbok, Nakwamoru, Lebokat, Ombollion, Nadome and Kamur caves in Turkana County; the Turkwell Escarpment at the interface of West Pokot and Turkana Counties. 

The Interior Cabinet Secretary noted that over 135 Kenyans, including 20 officers, have been killed in the last seven months 

Bandits will be flushed out of their hideouts in whichever means possible. The move laid down is just a start to make sure they are not comfortable. No turning back until this perennial issue is eradicated and contained. 

"I assure the people of Kenya that we shall neutralize every bandit who defies the Government and engages in the atrocious killing, maiming, and displacement of people from their homes.

We are taking this war to their hideouts by land and air, with all our weight and might and with all the strength that God has given us to effectively defeat this lamentable catalog of crimes against humanity. We shall never surrender our Country to criminals." Kithure Kindiki 

Leaders who are key profiteers of this insecurity issue have also been given notice.
