Kakamega MCA Stabbed to Death by Goons

Kisa East Ward residents in Khiswero, Kakamega County are mourning the sudden demise of their beloved area MCA Hon. Stephen Maloba.
The MCA met his death when he found himself in confrontation with Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka. The ugly spat attracted rowdy supporters linked to the MP who allegedly stabbed him in Munjiti Area. The MCA was pronounced dead upon arrival to Mbale Hospital due to profusing bleeding.

His death was confirmed by Governor Fernandez Barasa who sent his condolences on behalf of Kakamega County. "On behalf of the people of Kakamega County, I wish to send our sincere condolences to the family of Hon. Stephen Maloba and the people of Kisa East Ward. We pray that God grants us fortitude to bear the loss." The statement read.

The police are pursuing the perpetrators who conducted the heinous act against the MCA. Khwisero OCPD Samuel Kogo confirmed that the incident happened at a public meeting. "We cannot tell the motive of the assailants for now but action is being undertaken to ensure all those who were involved will be brought to the book," he said.

The late Stephen Maloba managed to beat the odds for being elected unanimously via KANU ticket after beating UDA's candidate in the August polls. His demise was as result of political difference between two camps.

Other leaders who mourned Maloba are Senator Bonny Khalwale and Deputy Governor Kakamega County Ayub Savula.
